1. Brie

Brie Cheese

Produced from cow’s milk, this soft cheese is creamy. Having a lactose range of 0-2%, it is ideal for those intolerant to it.

Uses: An appetizer, as toppings on sandwiches.


2. Camembert

Camembert Cheese

Made from cow’s milk, taking its name after Normandy’s Camembert town. 

Uses: Eaten cold and uncooked, added to crackers, and salad


3. Ricotta

Ricotta Cheese

 A soft, moist, grainy texture.

Uses: In cakes, pasta, pizza, roasted chicken and desserts


4. Neufchatel

Neufchatel Cheese

Known as farmer’s cheese in the United States, it is dense, milky,  yeasty and nutty flavor of Camembert.

Uses: As an appetizer, in desserts, cheesecakes.


5. Feta

Feta Cheese

Made in Greece, this soft, creamy brined cheese with or without holes is prepared from either only sheep milk or both sheep and goat milk.

Uses:  As toppings on sandwich.

6. Cheddar

Cheddar Cheese

Being low in lactose, cholesterol and fat, fresh cheddar is soft and smooth.

Uses: As toppings on crackers, nachos.


7. Mozzarella

Mozzarella Cheese

Prepared from cow and sheep (“mozzarella pecorella) milk, though these are less common types.

Uses: Pizza and pasta topping.


8. Quark

Quark Cheese

It is a unripened soft cheese with a creamy texture, having its origin in the German-speaking countries of Europe,

Uses: In sandwich.


9. Cottage Cheese

Cottage Cheese

Made from pasteurized cow’s milk, being a healthy option for diabetics.

Uses: In pastas.


10.  Gorgonzola

Gorgonzola Cheese

Prepared from cow’s milk (unskimmed), it ages in three to four months and is soft with a salty taste.

Uses: risotto.
